Why HDG Architects? What keeps you here and motivated?
Our firm prides itself on providing a high level of service and personal attention to clients; I think that is something that truly sets us apart. Our collaborative environment and team-oriented approach to design are a big part of what makes us who we are as a firm. We bring a high level of detail to our projects and pride ourselves on building thorough document sets to meet our clients’ needs. Developing the next generation of architects through strong mentoring is another important component of our firm culture.

What is your favorite aspect of practicing architecture?
On any project, having the Owner tell me they were very happy with our work and our service, and that they would be willing to hire us again and refer us to others, is very gratifying. One of the more memorable projects where that happened for us was Wilson Elementary School. Our team transformed an antiquated school into a wonderful place to learn. The students, staff, School District, and community were very ecstatic with how well the project turned out and couldn’t believe the transformation.  I enjoy hearing positive feedback that the building or space we designed is everything from highly functional to artistic.  It’s great hearing that your creative problem solving abilities are acknowledged and appreciated.
