New Robinson Township Police Station Breaks Ground
October 22, 2020
The Township of Robinson held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 19, 2020 for construction of a new, 9,600 sq. ft. Robinson Township Police Station building. The ceremony took place on the site of the new police station, which is located adjacent from the current police station in Robinson Township.
Those in attendance at the ceremony included the Township Commissioners, Township Manager, Police Chief, local politicians, and consultants and contractors, including the Hayes Design Group Architects’ Design Team.
The Township’s Police Department had outgrown their existing building and this necessitated construction of a new building capable of supporting the Police Department’s services for the next 50 years. The Township worked with the Hayes Design Group Architects to design the new building and Remington Vernick Engineers for a number of site modifications. The facility will include a sally port with adjacent prisoner processing, a fitness room, locker rooms, offices, and a squad room. The project will also feature bullet-resistant windows, forced-entry-resistant doors, and a storm shelter capable of withstanding 250 mph wind speeds. The project is scheduled to be completed in August 2021.
