PROJECT UPDATE FOR ALLEGHENY COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING 6TH FLOOR RENOVATIONS

With the design complete and construction well underway, the Allegheny County Office Building’s 6th-floor office renovation for the County’s IT Department will be wrapping up in the next few months. The original construction of the County Office Building dates back to 1929 and renovations to existing buildings of almost 100 years old can be an interesting challenge, for example, a complete floor renovation in this building has never been done until now. Despite the challenges, the County and Shannon Construction have been great clients and partners throughout the process. Ryan Gorscak, Project Architect, has been managing the construction for this project and can be seen discussing design decisions with the Client and Contractors in the images below. You will have to keep an eye out for before and after photos of this project!

Additional HDG staff contributing to this project include Mark Duane, President; Rob Rensi, Principal; and Juliane O’Day, Architectural Designer. We are eager for Allegheny County to enjoy its new office space and are looking forward to an anticipated completion date in Spring 2024!
