HDG Architects provided architectural services for this two-story, 4,000 SF addition to an existing commercial building in the Banksville neighborhood. The addition included offices, a kitchen, toilet rooms, a large group presentation space, and accessibility improvements including an elevator.
The original building, constructed in several phases in a residential neighborhood and in an area suspected to be undermined, presented unique massing and development challenges. Its presence in a parks zoning district required several approvals from the City for vehicular and bicycle parking, contextual appropriateness, and landscaping. Other services provided by HDG included assistance with evaluation of existing storage, workstation, and financing.
