Chartiers Township Community Center

HDG Architects designed a new 10,000 SF Community Center for Chartiers Township. The masterplan developed a vacant property near Chartiers-Houston High School into a playground, ballfields, and a community center building. The building a houses a senior center, offices, banquet hall with seating for 225, and full-service kitchen. It is an efficiently-planned single-story facility featuring a large port-cochere to greet community members while allowing covered access from a roundabout car drop-off. The building also utilizes clerestory windows and large operable exterior windows to allow plentiful natural light and fresh air into the building. Through a simple design with maximized efficiency, the building creates a beautiful interior space for community functions, receptions, and other activities for members of the community of all ages.
