HDG Project News

December 08, 2015

It has been a very busy “end of the year” in the Hayes Design Group (HDG) office.  In addition to new projects coming online, several others have reached significant milestones.  Wilson Elementary of the West Allegheny School District (WASD) was recently dedicated – officially marking the culmination of the project.  With the closure of one project in WASD, we are moving rapidly in construction at McKee Elementary and the plan is to complete the renovation work by August 2016.  We have also begun construction documents for renovations to Carmichaels Elementary and are expected to go out to bid in February 2016.  In addition, we recently completed construction documents for the West View Water Authority new Water Treatment Plant in Economy Borough. The project was bid in November and came in under budget.  The Water Authority intends to award bids later in December and break ground in March!  The Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority has begun phase two of their capital improvement campaign and HDG has been commissioned to design an addition to the SPWA Intake Building.  It doesn’t end there!  Demolition has begun at the former rectory at Holy Child Catholic Parish in Bridgeville to make room for an addition to the former school which will serve as a new social hall.   And one more project to note, HDG is wrapping up a feasibility study for St. Teresa of Avila that is considering several improvement projects including a renovated Social Hall.
