Hayes Design Group Architects Gets into the Holiday Spirit by Wrapping Presents for Local Children

December 7, 2017

In what has become an annual tradition, Hayes Design Group Architects (HDG) got into the holiday spirit with a festive wrapping party to benefit local children at Christmas.  After purchasing approximately 100 gifts to be given to local children, HDG employees gathered together in the open meeting area at the firm’s new Robinson Township office for a special “gift wrapping lunch.” With pizza for energy and some festive Christmas music, the HDG elves wrapped all of the gifts and then Tim Reidy, whose initial idea it was to start this company gift-giving tradition three years ago, played Santa Claus and dropped off the bags of gifts to be given to the children – without any indication of where they came from.

This year’s HDG company gift drive will support the East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) in East Liberty whose mission is to help vulnerable adults and at-risk children and youth throughout the neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.  The new toys and clothes will help make the season magical for 12 children ranging from age 5 to 14 who will now receive everything they wanted for Christmas, and a few things they needed as well!

Tracy Hudson, Volunteer Coordinator at the EECM, said about the donation, “It is such a blessing that your group is willing to help those that are less fortunate. For some of these children, what they receive from Hayes Design Group Architects, will be the only gifts received for Christmas. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!”
